Conversations with My Children: The Brightest Crayon

Conversations with My Children: The Brightest Crayon

My son was in the top 10% of his graduating class. He is a National Honor Society Student. He has a GPA of 3.987.   All this means he is smart, right?

Recent conversations with my 19 yr old son…

I hear a voice from in the kitchen, “Mom, who’s Teddy Gray-Hams are these?”

Thinking surely I misunderstood what he said, I ask him to repeat it.   He did.  I hadn’t misunderstood.   null

“What is the Stock Market?”   It’s on Wall Street.  It’s where they trade stocks.  “Where’s Wall Street?”

“How far is it to Washington?   The state or D.C.?   “The State.”  It’s on the west coast near California.  Why?   “I’d like to see the White House.”

While discussing his sister being in Army Basic Training and the things she was doing.  Your sister had to go in the Gas Chamber today.   “Why??  What did she do wrong?”  (He was dead serious.)

It scares me to think of what all they didn’t teach him in school.
